Russell J. Woolley is President of CHI Mercy Health, Roseburg, OR. Russ joined Mercy in 2023 from Seattle, Washington where he served as Hospital President at St. Francis and St. Anne Hospitals since 2016. Russ also served as Vice President of Operations at the University of Colorado Health earlier in his career.
Russ brings a creative and visionary leadership to Mercy with a highly successful track record in the healthcare industry. He obtained his Bachelor Science in Health Services Administration from Utah Valley University, College of Science & Health, Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan.
Russ has a passion for strategic growth opportunities, operational success, volunteering and giving back to the Roseburg community.
Dr. Jason F. Gray is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of CHI Mercy Health, Roseburg, OR and President of Centennial Medical Group. Dr. Gray has been a member of the Medical Staff since 2000. He has served in multiple roles including Surgical Services director, as a member of the Quality Improvement committee, the Board of Directors’ Quality Improvement committee, and the Medical Executive committee from 2002-2009, including two terms as Chief of Staff. He has been the CMO at Mercy since 2011. Dr. Gray is also the current vice chairman of Umpqua Health Alliance (UHA).
Dr. Gray is a graduate of the University of Oregon and George Washington University where he earned his Master of Business Administration. He received his medical education at Oregon Health Sciences University. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency in anesthesiology at the University of California (Davis), where he served as chief resident. Dr. Gray is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and continues to practice anesthesiology in addition to his administrative duties.
Jamie Poindexter is the Vice President of Financial Operations and CFO for the Oregon Markets that includes CHI Mercy Health in Roseburg and St. Anthony’s Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon. These markets are part of the Northwest Region of CommonSpirit Health.
Jamie has over 20 years of healthcare experience in accounting, reimbursement, and finance in various leadership roles. Prior to joining the Oregon Markets, Jamie worked at PeaceHealth, Vancouver, WA where she served as System Director of Finance for the Medical Group. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Accounting from the University of Central Florida and Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix.
Jamie brings a passion for serving the hospital with her financial leadership to ensure the financial goals are met while serving the patients and the community.
Sarah Baumgartner is the Director of Communications and Marketing at CHI Mercy Health. She joined Mercy in 2014 as a communications representative and served in this role for seven years before being promoted to the executive role in 2021. In her current role, she also oversees the Volunteer and Community Outreach teams.
Prior to joining Mercy in 2014, Sarah held marketing and communication positions in Roseburg and Portland.
Sarah graduated from the University of Portland with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
Thom Hauer is the Market Director of Human Resource Operations that includes CHI Mercy Health in Roseburg and St. Anthony’s Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon. These markets are part of the Northwest Region of CommonSpirit Health.
Thom has four years experience with CommonSpirit in the Centura Health region including previous HR responsibility for two Kansas market hospitals, the physician enterprise and four affiliates. He is a 20 year plus HR professional with experience in hospital, clinical laboratory, physician enterprise and R & D. He provides independent consultation services ranging from quality/process improvement to new hospital startups to due diligence on healthcare acquisitions. Thom has earned his Masters of Business Administration, BSBM and SHRMi certifications.
Thom is motivated by opportunities in Human Resources to influence positive employee engagement through retention, and reducing barriers to healthcare in small market communities.
David Price provides oversight to non-clinical operations at CHI Mercy Health. His areas of accountability include: Mission Services, Security, Facilities, Grounds, Courier Services, Laundry and Linen, Plant Maintenance, Food and Nutrition, Environmental Services and Clinical Engineering. He is also responsible for community benefit reporting, real estate transactions, construction project management, bioethics consultation, and guardianship contract governance.
In the early chapter of his career in healthcare, David served in the roles of ambulatory chaplain, bereavement coordinator, and licensed counselor.
Sandy Wright is the Corporate Responsibility Officer (CRO) for the Oregon Markets that includes CHI Mercy Health in Roseburg and St. Anthony’s Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon. These markets are part of the Northwest Region of CommonSpirit Health.
She has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, serving as a HIPAA Privacy Officer and Corporate Responsibility Officer in an executive role since 2015, providing compliance auditing, monitoring and oversight of the Compliance Program. Prior to her current position, Sandy was a Paralegal for 18 years assisting in medical malpractice defense work, contracts, and trademark and patent litigation.
Sandy graduated from Napa Valley College with her Associate of Arts degree in General Education and graduated from California State University, Sacramento with her Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Additionally, she is certified by HCCA in Healthcare Compliance.
