How to Pick and Store Carrots
Most grocery stores sell carrots already in a bag. If you purchase carrots this way, you can simply select them by the expiration date on the package and then store them in the refrigerator. If you open the bag, close it tight with a clip or tie.
If you’re picking carrots individually by hand, choose those which are firm and uniform in color. First, remove the greens. Then, place the carrots in a zip-tight bag and poke tiny holes in the bag to allow moisture to escape. Do not wash the carrots before placing them in storage. Store them in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator, where they should stay fresh for about a month.
