Day Surgery

Advances in surgical technology have been so numerous and dramatic in recent years that now more surgeries are performed as same day (outpatient) procedures than those requiring a hospitalization. Procedures performed in Mercy’s Day Surgery setting save patients money and shorten recovery time significantly.

The comfortable preparation and recovery Day Surgery suites are staffed by nurses specializing in outpatient procedures while the actual surgery is attended by the same surgeons, OR nurses, and techs who care for our inpatients.

Any surgery that can be accomplished on an outpatient basis can be handled at Mercy Day Surgery. Best of all, Day Surgery at Mercy provides you the security of knowing that, should you ever need it, the back-up and support only a full-service hospital can provide, are only seconds away.

Oregon Surgery Center

Since 2003, the ORegon Surgery Center has offered Douglas County residents a convenient, cost-effective setting for a wide range of surgical procedures that do not require an overnight hospitalization.

Between 7,000 and 8,000 patients are cared for each year in this comfortable, state-of-the-art setting located adjacent to the Mercy Medical Center Emergency Department. Skilled surgical care is available in the following specialty areas:
